Almost all Central and South American cichlids breed the same way, just on different terrains...........The females' anal tube is a lot thicker than that of the males'.............The femals' tube almost always points staright forward and the males' tube has a slight backward angle...........The eggs are gaurded over a 2-3 day nesting period.......When the fry hatch, the fry are feircly guarded by the parents...........Extreme parents', such as the Discuc, produce a mucus on their skin to feed their young during the first several weeks..........Males' in a lot of the cichlid family, like the Red Devil, display large huumps on their head, called nuchal humps...........These humps have been seen to be one the top qualities to breed in the private industry...........As for breeding the best feeder, try a pair of COnvict cichlids.............The convict Cichlid is a prolific breeder that can lay up to three spawns per month, I have tried personaly..........
