Hey I was just wondering the best type of fish to breed for feeding to a red devil. I have a 10G tank I have spare for it, and an ok filter aswell. Basically I want a simple fish to breed that my devil can eat :)

And do you guys know if red devils eat earth worms?

Thanks for any help.

Meh Ill bar doing worms then and just breed the rosies. Thanks for your help.

You can collect worms from your lawn or have your own worm farm, then thoroughly clean them, chop them up and feed to your red devil. A great conditioning food and its packed with caroteens. To bring out his reds.

Ok cool, they are only like 20 bucks for a box down at the hardware shop to establish a colony, Ill do that.

Hell, Ill probably breed the red rosies aswell, a little variation wont hurt him :)

Feed him at least 2-3 different kinds of foods
That dopesnt mean 3 kinds of flakes
But yeah, rosies, earthworms and flakes/pellets would be a nice combo

Personally I think Guppies are easier to breed than Rosies.. I don't knwo about growth to adult hood... But I knwo that most guppies reach adult size inside of 6 months :)

And I would work toward traingin onto Frozen peas as well :) Just my thoughts though :)

I raise feeder guppys ... as soon as a baby looks like a male - he's gone to the big tank and swallowed down in moments!

For sake of Guppy Lovers - try not to raise fancy guppy - they to purdy!
Also; they are easier to spot by the predatory fish - that takes away from the natural hunting skills of those that hunt.

My feeders are also to help keep the tank from getting bored.
So; after the timer shuts off the lights - it's a good time to put in feeders.

They have a better chance of hiding and bubbles are REAL good - if you have a power head - make sure it's pumping in lot of bubbles!

I hate powerheads that pump in bubbles. Takes away the look from the fish and all you see in white dots everywhere. Rosies are prolly harder to raise in large amounts but I suspect they would have a hell of a alot more caroteens than guppies. Caroteens bring out the reds in fish.
