I just got a false gar that will only eat feeders. What would you reccomend I try and breed. I was thinking convicts with a tank divider but the tanks only a 10 gallon. What do you guys think? The lfs rosy red feeders are crappy and keep dying on me not to mention all the parasites.... What do you think

Convict feeders are easy........Females show reddish orange on their belly.......PLace a cracked clay pot on its side.......The pair will breed within 2 weeks.........

yea i would do guppies and mollies

One thing to keep in mind when breeding mollies is that yes, they do breed prolifically, in the comparatively short time they're sexually active. Especially with the first few you get from an lfs to get the feeder stock started, which are halfway through their active phase already.

I've had the most luck when not using one of those little breeder cages, as well. A large plant big enough to partially float on the water, to both provide a place for the pregnant mother to hide as well as the fry is less likely to stress them out to the point of death.
