What do you feed a female flowerhorn or a female parrot fish to get it ready to breed? Is it okay just to feed pellets or do I need to feed it something else.

you should be feeding a variety of foods to condition them to peak breeding condition
you can offer:
frozen/freeze dried/live brine shrimp, blood worms, black worms
different kinds of flakes and pellets. the key is variety and some fish breed sooner when food is readily available because in the wild they would hae done the same thing

Feeding the flowerhorn a variety of feed is the best thing..............The staple diet(the everday diet) shoulod be a pellet food....HIKARI color enhancing pellets are best because they are not expensive and are very heatlty for your fish.............As for the variety of feed....Try:
krill
mealworms
crickets
popcorn shrimp
wax worm
