Hi, I'm new to FBTs. I got some and I know generally what to do- I have 3 in a little circular ramped habitat that I got in the mail. It is about 3/4 water with a little moss in it and some gravel. I feed them crickets every 2 days. Now, is there anything else I should be doing (I change the water once a week), aand how do I make a really awesome habitat and get them to breed?

Also, i some proven anoles 2 male and 1 female in a 20 gallon. I am not new to lizards, I have 7 unsexed anoles, a green iguana (I used to have 2, but 1 died a month ago), countless common skinks, and a blue-tongued skink that all live in my greenhouse. They congregate together to eat every day in the same spot. The reason I am posting this is because I have never BRED any of my lizards. I would appreciate any advice on how to breed the anoles in the 20 gallon

about the frogs i would put them in a 10 gal. 3/4 water and a filter in there mmake sure there isnt more than 5 in. of water or they will drownd also make a walkway out of the way and feed them EVERYDAY!!!! not every 2 days. and they wont prob breed till the spring. about the lizards they should start to breed in the greenhouse just provide some plants and ALOT of moister keep the plant soil damp also so the eggs do dry out and just every now and then check for digging in the pots.

hey, thanks-I have the anoles on a mister, so its moist. Did you say that they bury their eggs? Also, do I need to remove the eggs to elsewhere (cannibalism)

p.s.-I know that the FBTs have to eat every day, the guy I bought them from told me that, i Meant that I put new crickets in every two days, usually 5 or 6

lol- I just noticed that you're in new york. it already is spring down here in north carolina

the anoles do bury there eggs i beleive if you are to take them out i would put them in a little like empty butter container with holes in it and mist it every day dont saturate it just keep it moist dont let it dry out or the eggs with rot also kep it in a warm spot but not a hot!!! spot keep it at least 84 degrees in the soil

thanks again

:feedback: , that is, other than rayboy

Not sure about the FBTs. As far as the anoles go I've never seen them bury their eggs, they have always been on the substrate's surface and/or adhered to the side of the enclosure's walls. Humidity of %60-%80. Also a brumation period (a time during which the temp is lowered 10-15 degrees from normal temps and daily lighting is cut by 2 hours or so) is suggested when breeding any reptile or amphibian. The young will take flightless fruit flies and pinhead crickets.

Brumation usually lasts 3-4 months and you should'nt offer as much food, but make sure the female especially is getting a lot of calcium in her diet after you bring them out of brumation. They can very easily become calcium defficiant when producing eggs.
