I have several guppies and tertas in my tank as well as two turtles a mississipi map, and a red ear slider. For the most part they leave the fish alone, the problem is non of the fish will breed. is it the turtles?

Unless your water is highly polluted, the guppies should breed if you have a pair in the tank. Guppies are livebearers and produce live young. Without plant cover, the fry most likely will be eaten. The tetras are another story. They are egglayers who scatter their eggs. Highly unlikely that eggs or fry would survive in that tank.

Turtles will eat the fry and the parents eventually. After about a year my turtles have learned to hunt the fish in the pond at night when the fish are trying to sleep. They do this for a little bit then sleep themselves.

ive seen people keep large cichlids ( afew 8"+ tiger oscars, red devils, and jack dempseys) with a very big 300 year old alligator snapping turtle in a 5,000 gallon aquarium , the turtle oddly didnt pay any mind to the cichlids but if u throw about 100 feeders in there and they all had a field day. i know the jack dempseys did spawn a few times and the fry did survive because of small enough hiding places for them to live but they did get picked off slowly due to curiosity

One thing you can do if you really want the guppies to breed is wait until a female guppy looks like she's close to birth (you'll see a big black spot behind her anal fin) and then put her into either a breeding net or an observation container. Both are fairly cheap at around $6-8 in my area. The female will pop them out in there and then you can put her back into the larger portion of the tank and leave the fry in the net or observation container until they are large enough to fend for themselves. (Usually at around a month old.)
