breeding flathead catfish

No you need more than 5,000 gals for breeding flatheads. To tell you truth is that no one in forum has bred flathead in aquarium before and cause flatheads into spawning mode isnt easy and very tricky. Plus they dont get along with other flatheads. And even in pond they probably wont spawn. You are not ready for breeding flathead and you need license for breeding gamefish in Iowa (what you doing with all these fry?). You need to think future before work on them. Better way is you need to attend college then get a job at fish hatchery or fish farm.

i would probably raise the fry to like 1 ft them give them to bass pro or cabellas

Bad idea, the bass pro and cabellas dont take any young gamefish thats less than a foot, they want BIG fish. Thats why you rarely see any young gamefish on display tanks except odd bass and pike. And they wont take many young gamefish. Most stores prefer have only one or two flatheads in the display tanks along with blue, channel and white catfishes.
