I have a male and a female flower horn both of which are premium flower horns. I am now attempting to breed them. The first run seemed to go well the female layed eggs, i moved the rock she layed them on closer to the divider so the male could fertilize however after i did this i went to the cottage for a day and a half so they went without food for one day...When i came home Sunday night i noticed the female ate all the eggs because they were all gone and only the female has access to that side....What am i doing wrong, anything you guys know of can help?

remove the divider next time

if the female laid the eggs put the male on the side of the female and the female on the side of the male. thats how we usually do it here in the philippines and it always works. :)

u have to observe if the male eats the eggs it means theyre not compatible. if it fertilizes the eggs then good.

heres a tip that I learned.

place a divider between them. (this process ensures that none of them will get hurt)

if the breeding tube of female is low or is visible, there may be a possibility that she will lay eggs soon.

if you have time, try to watch the female and wait for her to lay the eggs.

once she has completed to lay the eggs, switch the female to the males side and then try to check if the male will fertilize the egg.

another. have you placed a clay pot inside the tank? usually this helps so that the eggs are not scattered.

there is a divider in between them and the first time she laid eggs on a flat rock...i moved the entire rock closer to the divder so that the male can fertilize the eggs and after this the female ate the eggs...i'm assuming she did this because i moved the eggs
