Should i breed frontosa's? Are they easy to breed?

anyone

It takes a long time. Buy a bif group. They are peaceful, calm but grow very slow. Very rewarding to breed and you'll have no trouble getting $8 - $10 per fry.

I threw 6 in a 180 gal. added water and food about 10 years ago and I now have 13 including two or three originals. The 10 others are fry that have just survived in the tank. I could strip a female about once every two weeks as they are constantly spawning but there is no market for them here. They take two or more years to mature and males can be very aggressive to one another and to the females. I got lucky with my group and made sure there was a lot hiding spots that the bigger male couldn't fit into for the females to seach refuge. Once they spawn they hold hold for 20 days or more quite amazing that a fish can survive that. the fry take for EVER to grow typical to most lake tang. fry though.

+1 for slow growers.

I really wanted a colony back in the day, but other things got in the way.

It would be super neat to breed, but if you are interested in doing it for profit make sure that you check your local markets and see what they are willing to offer you.
