Ok, the playing field is set. I am going to try to duplicate the same sexy environment that cause my last eels to become swollen with eggs. I'm talking about the G. Tile species, that is actually a brackish specimen.

This time around, I made a rock cave and I have selected three eels that differ in size and head shape, in hopes that I have a male/female combination. Since so little is known about the breeding behavior of this type of fish, I am documenting all that I can, from water parameters, to feedings, to water temp to even the time the light is on in the tank. I'll also include music that was played in the background, maybe some Luther Vandross or some other sexy music.

So far, the eels have all settled right into the rock cave, made out of lava rock. There is enough light in there to allow me to peek in. I'm feeding them home bred mollies and crayfish. And I'm going to try to convince them that Hikari Sinking pellets ARE food too.

Cross your fingers for me and if you have some adult eel videos, please send them. I'm sure my eels will appreciate that too.

Good luck! BTW, I had no problems getting my two former G. tile to eat Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets. They ate those pellets like they were eating buttered popcorn at the movie theater. The Hikari pellets are expensive, but they are, IMO, one of the few pellets that certain fish will eat. For example, some of my dats will readily eat them.

Sounds interesting. Its nice to hear about breading projects like this. I don't think I have heard of any breading from these eels. Good luck.
