breeding geoghagus

i have a 100 gal tank and want to breed geoghagus what type are easiest and how do i breed them

red hump is by far the easiest. Plus it is a mouth brooder. My friend was able to breed a pair that was only 4.5" each. Very cool fish.

Replace firemouth with geophagus and you should be fine

what substrate and water conditions do red humps breed best in

substrate makes no difference, although you find they have an easier time in sand. With gravel, expecially thick gravel, babies can fall through the gaps and may be lost. Best though is barebottom. For water quality, just keep it at the high 70's or low 80's. They come from areas where the water is soft (low pH), but my friend's geos bred in regular treated tap water, pH 7

The Steindarchi, SP. AKA Red HUMP, is easiest to breed.., my friends bred next day, when he bought them from a LFS.
