I had 2 blue rams in a 15 gallon, the temp is 82F and the water quality is perfect. I am sure one is a male and one is a female, but yet they havnt laid 1 egg!!! i dont know what else should i do? today i just bought another blue ram, hes a looker for sure, and hopefully she likes this one but i dont have a clue what else to do to encourage the breeding process.

any help would be appreciated!

I have been told they prefer a flat rock/slate to spawn on. might wana try that. They also like a planted tank too. Try raising the temp yet? I know they like it warm

Good luck

i was also wondering if my other male that will not end up pairing up will get lonly, should i get another female and have 2 pairs?

you could def add another female good food is also helpful mysis shrimp blood worms etc a ph of 6.2-6.8 seems to help also mine took about 3 months before their first batch of eggs then they spawned on a regular basis the babies are not the easiest in the world to raise though

I have had luck breeding rams by doing large water changes (60%+) for a few days. It seems to jump start the spawning process.

NO way...I definitely would keep the established pair only in a 15. If you had a 30 I'd say go for it. I'm setting up a 30 blue ram tank right now and will have 3 in there. I want 1M 2F's but we'll see when I get them in a week. They're on order right now

try a water change and raise it to 83-84. wouldn't try higher temps than that tho

Good luck

done, done and done, now its a waiting game, hopefully they spawn!

ohh yea i should include the tankmates....

15gallon w/
3 yoyo loachs
2 skunk loachs- soon to be feeders if they keep fin nipping
3 blue rams
ornate bichir
seneg bichir
fire eel
tire track eel

They'll never breed with all those other fish in there. You say your water quaility is perfect but for what. Rams require a Acidic pH of around 6.5 and soft water when breeding, I don't know *F but I would have it at about 28*C.
