I am in the process of breeding guppies & am wondering if I need to keep each batch separate or if I can mix batches in order to keep the males & females separated. Thanks!

I have a 10 gallon tank that I put all the fry into. As they grow up, I separate males from the females and put them in their own tank. Until they are old enough to sex, I generally keep them in one tank. I also have my fry molly, swords and platys in there.

So, no dividers in the tank to keep different batches seperate from one another, right? Just all together in 1 tank. So I can use one of my 10 gallon tanks for fry that are too young to sex & the other 10 gallon to put males & females in, but use a divider to keep them separate, right? Thank you so much for your help. I kinda new at this. :)

that sounds like a wonderful plan. Being in a 10 gallon tank, your babies will quickly grow. Especially if you do regular water changes. Good luck, and let me know what your progress is.

Thank you very much! One more question & I'll leave you alone :) . . . you said in your post "regular water changes" - how often is "regular"? Thank you again so much for your help!

in my breeding tank i let the babies grow to bout half an inch then transfer them to the tank with my afc's i usually have bout 10 or more different batches in there at a time. some of my females just end up giving birth in the afc tank, so i have floating plants in both tanks. also to get bigger batches once i noticed the females have gotten impregnated i feed them a lot more, and the food i give them and the babies is frozen bloodworms, a high quality flake and a growth powder i got from kens fish.

This is assuming that you either have one type of Guppy or you do not care if they mix. Are you breeding them as feeders or are you breeding them for their beauty? different strains of Guppy will breed with each other if they are kept together.
