i just read the thread about baby guppies and i as already planning on getting a planted tanks so my question is are there any special requirements that these fish need other a planted tank. the tank i was planning on was a ten gallon so if you have any ideas please let me know
thanks

I have crossed Endler's Live Bearers with snakeskin guppies and the breed I have right now is super virile and hardy. Feed them and do frequent water changes and the fish will breed like crazy.

you could try putting in a lump of java moss as it acts as a safe haven from the parents in case you dont notice a birthing one night. and the fry are big enough for powdered flake/pellets, grind in a pestle and mortar.

i have found that floating plants work great. i had hornwort and water wisteria and the fry hide up in the plant and eat the microscopic organisms living in the plants and THRIVE.
