How do I go about breeding guppies? I have a 10G tank with 12 guppies in it. Most are regular but one is half green half pink. What will I have to know about breeding them? There is also a small crawfish in the tank. Does he need to be moved?

I'm sure the crawfish will eat the babies, more males than females, fake plants for the babies to hide in since the parents will eat the babies, to tell if the female is preg she gets big.. easier way is to look at the butt and if its red not yet, if it black is preg.. well thats how i tell with mine

definitely move the cray he will not get along with your guppies especially because fancy guppies arent exactly fast and agile. It doesnt take much to breed them im sure they will breed on their own. Live foods help though. With your fry you can feed them hikari first bites, daphnia and microworms. Livebearer fry are pretty large and its not hard to feed them.

I raised fancy guppies as feeders, Larger, And breed just as quick.
Bare bottom 10gl tank. With the two ends heavily covered with suction cup plants.
20 - 30 females, and about 10 - 12 males. Feed crushed flake 2 -3x a day.
Water changes twice a week. Then every month and a half to two months,
I would move the parents to a new tank, replant, And start over.

It was also interesting, To create new color combinations. :D

Spike:grinno:

P.S. move the crawdad!
