we have one set of jd's and would love some tips on haow to keep fry alive have 55 gal and 25gal thank you

They paired up i presume?
I would use the 25 gallon for the fry.

When removing the fry once free swimming, python them out of the adults tank (like you would doing tank maintenance). Specialist liquid foods can be bought for fry from your local fish store. As they get bigger, brine shrimp and finely crushed fish flakes.

Also, i would suggest having java moss (or other plants like it) in the fry tank, as they have tiny food sources or something like that.

Oh and remember, either cover up the filter intake; or even better, use a sponge filter.

Have I missed anything?

um what do i do when she always eats her own eggs and how can i tell if theyre paired

She is probably eating them because they aren't fertle, are you sure you have a male and female... Some times 2 females will pair up and still lay eggs!!! If you dont know post a pic and I will tell you if they are or not!!!

Agreed sometimes the first FEW attempts fail :)

well here is some pics i recently got a new jd and they all seem pale is there such thing as too much oxygen
bout ready to give up on breeding:cry:

No theres no such thing as too much oxygen but that looks like amonia burns and alot of stress to me.Im breeding these guys right now and my female has the same thing going on but the male is much better now with less fish and higher temps!
