I have a breeding pair of Jack Dempseys, that I have decided not to seperate. These two have great colors and are not related. I would love to keep one of their babies. Everytime they breed they eat the babies after awhile. Is there any thing I can do to help them become better parents?

How long does it take for them to eat the babies? If its weeks then it could be that they are making room for a fresh batch

I have a breading pair myself and a nursery/grow out tank, currently around 30 or so fry in it. The fry should be fine up to 6 weeks, I pull at 4. the norm is they re spawn about every 6 weeks. they eat the young to remove competition for the new fry to come. I trade my fry in at the local LFS for fish food, frozen blood worms, super meal worms and the such.

Separate the male from the spawn. The female usually is a better parent and by separating them they won't want to spawn immediately. I've been breeding dempsey's for a few years and always remove the male after he's fertilized the eggs. This will also cut down on spawning aggression between them. You can check out some of my threads on breeding Dempseys.

interesting, might try this next spawn, male can hang out in the 180. no worries breaking the bond?
