Breeding JAGUAR cichlid with RED TIGER

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lemme answer that in one word.

No.

Oscars are in a different family, and come from south america, while to my knowledge Jags are central american.

I think he means a red tiger mota;)Yeah , both parachromis, I'm pretty sure it could happen, but why would you want to?

Sure it's possible for them too.Would probably be difficult getting them to pair up though

Yes Jags and Motas can and will breed. The easiest combo would be a male Mota and a female Jag the sizes will be similar if both are grown a grown male Jag will be much larger than a female Mota but that's not to say it wouldn't happen either.

For anyone who has done it, is the result all that interesting? I guess I'm picturing something that is a watered down version of both.

I AGREE ....MY MALE RTM IS PAIRED UP WITH MY FEMALE LOISELLEI BUT SHE DOESN'T LAY EGGS...

yes it possible i have a male loisellei paired up with my female managuense some of the frys are about 2 inches now and they are on the 3rd batch

I had a male mota and a female jag, they seemed paired up, the female would constantly lay eggs, but the male never fertilized them, but his tube would always be out. He pretty soon just begin to beat on her. There is a video on youtube with about 4 inch mixed babies from the results of somebody's lucky pair.
