I plan on breeding my blood red male jewel in a 55 with 3 of my female neon jewels for him to pick from but I don't want to dedicate a 55 just for my jewels, my question is can mumba cichlids handle the aggression of breeding jewel cichlids ? I was told mumba are as tough as cichlids get and that red zebras and bubble bee cichlids would work fine but I've never kept Africans other than jewels so I'm not sure, also I know most Africans like a high ph my 55 ph is 7.8 is this high enough because any higher I feel like the jewels will suffer as they have lived there lives at 6.8 ph
