I have a group of Jewels that are breeding, yet with 5 spawns so far by day 3 all the eggs are eaten. My question is, would it be okay to remove the pot with the eggs in it to a tank by it's self or would the eggs die with out the parents?? I have one male that is breeding with 4 different females.

Thanks for any help

You certainly could move the pot with the eggs. You may want to move a pair to another tank instead. I have found the jewels to be very good parents. The female will usually move the wrigglers at day two or three to another location. She will do this several times before the fry are free swimming.

You can then feed the fry with newly hatched brine shrimp and then dry fry food.

Good luck!

Thanks for the help. Mine never make it to wrigglers stage, the female always guards the pot with the eggs and the male sometimes helps, but like half was through day two and into day 3 they eat the eggs. No matter how many times I feed them they still eat the eggs.
