has anybody ever tried breeding marbled crays for live food for stingrays?
are they safe?
could they hurt the rays?
would the rays be able to chew through the chitinous exoskeleton?
most importantly would they get the essential nutrients from eating them or should their diet be supplemented with something else?

I would say small crayfish would be easily digested and a good snack! Not as a staple. You could gut load them with pellets before you feed them to the rays kinda like you do with crickets for lizards.

They can and will eat them, but it can be quite messy. When I live in Louisiana I would regularly grab small ones out of batches we were boiling. I would break the chilepeds so they couldn't do damage and the rays loved them. Problem was with cleanup. There would be crawfish legs and shell pieces everywhere and when they pooped there were little pieces of shell there too. I was freaking out the first time cus it was red until I remembered feeding crawfish the day before.

You sparked my interest! I bought a few of these marbled crays. Gonna let them clone. I'm sure my rays and dats will love them! I will be feeding them at approximately 1" in size

awesome info guys ill prob buy some and experiment on my own once i get my ray setup going :D

(still saving $$$ :()

Im sure rays eat crayfish in the wild. Smaller crayfish might be a fun bite sized snack. I would think if there are many in the tank that do not get eaten, they might pick at the rays...maybe.
Are they easy to breed?
they sure are easy to breed you only need one as they reproduce without the need for a mate and marble crays are smaller than most others so they prob wont be able to do much damage to rays(think market shrimp size max)

I'm sure the rays would destroy the crays! and anything left over my clean up crew would eat! Mine will be here any day! Got them on aquabid from deanwaters
