As far as sexing, you would have to vent most Malawi mbuna. (Look at the sex organs)
There's not much to breeding Malawi cichlids.
Just have standard parameters
Plenty of water changes
temp between 74*-78*
And a M/F ration of either 1/3 or 2/6 and you should be breeding in no time.
They could start breeding at any from 2" on up. Depends on the fish.
