Hey everyone. I had this post at the flowerhorn section but got no answers. Well, I finally was able to have a male flowehorn and a female flowerorn to hopefully breed. The female is eating, but the male doesn't seem interested in eating. I've tried raw prawns, pellets, sticks, and krill. He'll come up to the food like he's interested but he gets close but doesn't eat. Is this normal during breeding or should I be worried that he has some kind of disease. He does eat a little off the floor but I'm worried he's not happy. No duck lips and his poop isn't white but I'm hoping that that's what males do during breeding. I know that when a flowerhorn starts to poop long white strands it has a disease but I've only fed him dried food , frozen bloodworms and raw shrimp. Please tell me it's normal or what should I do? Thanks, Ed

Can anyone help me out? Someone has to know the answer.

My male GT went off his food for about 2 weeks after spawning. He gradually resumed eating so I didn't think anything of it. All else was normal in that he was trying to kill me when I went near the tank. Not sure if the same can be applied to your situation though. You should be able to tell by his behaviour if he is sick. Good luck
