I have a question regarding breeding Midas cichlids. If you have a pure barred Midas, and a pure colored Midas..., if you breed them together, is this like doing a hybrid breeding? Do you usually breed coloreds to coloreds, and barreds to barreds, or can you freely interbreed them? I just wasn't sure if they were considered two different species, or all the same (just like getting black and yellow lab pups in a litter).? Any info to help me keep it straight would really be helpful.
Thanks!
;)

No it would not be a hybrid it would still be just a midas u should get a mix of fry that will be colored, barred, and some with both color and bars.It should work out like u said about the dog analagy they will all still be a midas wether it's red, yellow, white, barred it's all good.
