I have been reading some Dr. Ross books and still have some q's on breeding motoros. Is it possible to breed with a hight ph of like 7.8? What is an ideal nitrate level for breeding? Does the nitrate level even play a factor?

I bred motoros for a few years.

My pH out of the tap was around 8.1 (varied slightly). In the pond it generally ran around 7.8.

It does not appear that pH is much of an issue for breeding.

I was also wondering this as well......., my Ph out of the tap is high too....., around 8 and i always thought that was to high for my rays....., what does everybody think????

I have been trying to keep the ph down through many methods but I'm wondering if I even need to........., does everybody think rays can be "really happy and horny' at such a high ph (upper 7's)???

i wouldnt worrie about nitrates

my p14s bred in nitrates between 80-100ppm
