breeding neon tetras

i would think that you lower ph, and do a water change with cooler water and hope for the best

Ya, they can be monsters. I have five of them in a ten gallon planted and they stop schooling after I feed, they divide the tank up, and then the act like cichlids defending their territory. To make matters worse they are all almost an inch I bet. Crabby old men.

If I was going to breed I would have live plants, especially java moss.
Then I would let the water level in the tank go down...keep the heat up.
Then I would do a big water change, fill the tank all the way up, and turn the heater off, or at least down to the high 60's maybe?

Good luck.
