The majotiry of all plecos breed under one gauranteed conditioned.....

LONG 20-55g tank
LOTS of driftwood
Medium to strong powerhead set at the medium to low height on the side of the tank.........
Varied diet of tubifix worms, sinking pellets, and(in some cases) lettuce...For nesting, it would be also fine to have 2 inch diameter PVC piping laid around the tank, some half-buried and some stuck in the driftwood......

I have a pair of BN plecos. They bred in a 29g. Then I moved them to 70g and just found babies again yesterday. They are so healthy looking in their tank.

Good luck w/ ur project. I just keep my water parameters as perfect as I can.

just a few question.

1. L27 Xingu Platinum breeds at approximately what size? (in inches or cm)

2. medium to strong powerhead = approx how many litres or g per hour?

3. and what are the PVC for? if i expect the breeding size L27 to be way bigger than 2inch diameter?

4. what other water parameters should i take note of? eg temperature?

5. anyone bred specifically L27? need advance help :D

bump. still need advise :D

As Far as i know no one has bred Large species of Panaque.
And no offense to the first reply but Panque do grow to over 1ft and a 55g is not even close to suitable for just 1 large panaque
