Hey MFK,

I have a 120 gallon tank with two almost full grown Tiger Oscars and a RTC/TSN Hybrid cat at about 14".

The Oscars were pretty much put in to finish cycling the tank which was really made for my growing catfish.

Now however, I think the Oscars are spawn. They seem to have paired off and swim together a lot and now there's a big hole in the substrate which even right now they're making by picking up rocks with their mouths and moving them elsewhere.

Are these signs that they're going to spawn?

Should I take out my catfish today or tomorrow? lmao

They're also getting pretty vicious.

They've even dragged out the long air bubble tube from within the substrate and I've seen then attacking it lol.

The oscars will fend off the cat if he try's to eat the eggs. They might spawn, keep us updated. Is or were there any jaw locking or tail batting? Also sometimes what happens is two females can pair off and act like a normal pair and lay eggs but they don't get fertilized.

good luck

Yeah I can't tell if their genders.

I have seen them chase each other around a couple times but I don't think I've seen any of that. By tail batting do you mean hitting each other with their tails? lol Or biting each other?

Oh no I don't think so.

I just saw them chasing each other around. Not violently, but sticking together, kinda weird.

Yeah they're messin with my Catfish, I need to move him lol.

Hi,my oscars behaved in the same way, after laying eggs they never hatched,so Id say wait before removing a third member.

Take the cat out. 2 of my Oscars paired off back when I was an inexperienced keeper, and they killed the poor catfish in there.

Thats sad to hear about your cat but that just shows wild or not oscars are bad MFK'as. I love that about them except my oscar busted my pleco up
