I will have a 90g tank open sometime this winter when I get around to setting it up :). I was thinking of doing just one breeding pair of cichlids in it but am not completely sure what I want. If you guys could put only one pair of fish in a 90g tank what would you get? All suggestions are welcome. Keep in mind that these fish will need to be able to stay in the tank for life and the fry would need to be desirable enough to get rid of.

Thanks,

i would say try salvinis'

2 good choices.

Here are a couple of others that I was thinking of

Carpintis Escondido
RTM
loisellei
trimaculatus
Amphilophus citrinellus - this is what I think I really want, but I don't think my tank is big enough
Amphilophus labiatus - again, I don't think the tank is big enough
Vieja regani - again, I don't think the tank is big enough
Paratheraps bifasciatus - again, I don't think the tank is big enough
Paratilapia Bleekeri
Green Terror

Any thought on which of these will work? Which will be a definate NO? Any other pairs that would be bold and interactive that would work?

Citrinellus pair perfect for a 90g. Jeff Rapps has some great wild caught pairs in stock.
