Okay I am going with a Breeding pair of Cuban Cichlids and I was Wondering how many I should buy to get a breeding pair??? I am thinking i need some where between 5 to 8 little ones to find a pair is that true or do i need more ?????

okay now are we talking the bigger ones or the small one the small ones are a 1.5in and the bigger ones are 3 to 3.5 in

Get several and make sure they are in a large tank. i would get as much as 8. These guys are absolutely ferocious toward eachother. I had 5 in a 125 and they basically killed eachother down to a pair. This is with an assortment of other tankmates. Nasty little fish but the pair I have is very much compatible.

I say get about 7 or them at about an inch or so and get a 125 and up tank. I agree with the above poster, I had a pair and when the male couldn't fertilze the eggs, the female killed him. Be Careful.
