Well i bought 2 rams at the same time from a local fish supplier here. They were the only 2 left and from my limited knowledge of them i think they are male and female. Since releasing them in my 55gal tank they have seemed to have paired up. They havn't left each others side in a week. Noticed today next to one of my plants what appeared to be a pit. My only guess is my rams considering i see them back there a bit.

Here is some pics.

2)The suspected pit, hard to tell from the picture but its there, they just chased that angel out from it.

I feel like such a loser sitting in front of my tank taking pictures lol.

For sexing them im going off the drastic color difference of the suspected male to female. The males fins are extremely pointed. Solid black spot. Larger than the female.

Female has the blue within the black spot, body size is noticeably smaller, fins are more rounded, and they dont seem as long.

Also after the first day it seemed like the male followed her around puffing up his fins and keeping the side of his body towards her no matter where she went.

So what does everyone think? Do i have a decent pair here.
Im thinking of getting a 20gal setting it up with a sand bottom with some flat rocks partially exposed, mildly planted, and see if i can get some magic.

Open to all suggestions too! Thanks!

Looks like a pair to me. I suggest conditioning them with bloodworms/brine shrimp(Foods a little higher in protein) and a quality pellet diet. With some TLC, they should produce some fry for you. It takes a little time. Good luck :D
