Breeding pair of Midas, tank size?

I'm getting a breeding pair of Midas, how big does the tank need to be?


Picture from previous owner: can you sex them for me, not sure if these are two females or a pair

Yeah, 125 gallons, or more. But I think those are 2 males if I've not mistaken. Really nice fish though.

a bit hard to tell their sex from their pics. they are both well fed, with a nuchal hump...
only way is to vent them.

I am good at sexing cichlids without having any idea what I am doing. The top fish looks male and the bottom looks female, but obviously I cannot guarantee anything.

Do you trust the guy you're getting them from?

If so, then if they are a breeding pair, then one must be male and one must be female. Thats how it works, no?
