Before anyone gets negative:)
this is done very frequently in asia
hence why they hve endless babies and they also eat them too.

im in new zealand, and i have one of the very few remaining species. I hink its a pair. how they swim, size diference. I think its a pair.

i read that you need to induce spawning.
i googled but no luck.
i am hoping someone here, with the centurie of combined fishkeeping and breeding knowledge that some one will know.

so far this is what i know:
they need to be induced with a hormone.
how to apply the hormone is beyond me
.... anyne have any ideas?

fishdance will know, he's bred pretty much everything (including clown loaches) and is experienced with hormone breeding aswell.

But he isn't on as frequently has he used to be.

stripping the fish may be a good idea! as well as hormone. with hormones its basically slap em with a small dose and incresae till they spawn.

stripping? whatdoes one mean?

Squeezing out the eggs and sperm into a bucket to fertilize the eggs. (at least that's what they do to salmon at the local hatchery...)

I am getting a Pangasius cat given to me in a few weeks, they are pretty cool. I read an interesting article on their use as food fish, I will see if I can find a link.

i have actually eated pangasius
in south africa
it seems to be a trend there...
the meat is fantastic
very firm
but not stringy...

but i wont eat mine
i wanna breed it

how do you kow when fish has sperm and eggs to squeeze out?
