HAS ANYONE EVEN HEARD OF OR SEEN THESE FISH B4? i found a little info online about them but not a whole lot by people who have actually kept them. Are they rare, common, easy to breed, hard to breed, ANYTHING!!!?

I've heard of them, but never seen them in person. Previous to 2004, they were considered a color form of P. humilis ... so I would find info about that species which should help. P. humilis are supposed to be more aggressive than the standard krib by a good amount, at least according to their reputation. Unfortunately I have yet to keep P. humilis yet either, mostly due to not having enough tank space for said reputation.

I haven't had experience with that specific type of pelvicachromis, I have had a sucessful batch of pelvicachromis taenatious "molowie" and am in the process of dropping pH down in a tank with a pair of pelvicachromis taenatious "bipindi" around 5.0 in an attempt to get them to breed.

I have found out the hard way that the Molowie and Bipindi variant require no where near the same types of water parameters to get them to spawn. The Molowies were an accident, they bred in my 10 gallon QT tank (it was bare bottom two flowerpots and no light) In dechlorinated tap water with a pH of 7.4

The Bipindis took a drop to a ph of 6.6 for the Male to even display breeding color. I'm hoping to get it down to 5.0 or as close to that as possible. I have to buy water from a drinking water store that has a 13 stage filtration system because the water come to me with a pH of 6.4 already.

The person who runs this website seems pretty intellilgent and has helped me a great deal in the proper identification of my fish and a general idea about how to get these little buggers to spawn for me as well.

find an e-mail on this website (AFTER you study the fry incubator plans and BUILD IT its a beastly contraption I love it) its right one the main page, I posted a hyper link to a page that had pictues of your fish and a zillion other pelvicachromis on it.

Send him an E-mail and if your lucky he will respond

thank you, any info is appreciated. Not sure how to kepp a consistantly low ph. the ph here from the tap is 8.5-9.0, I'm thinking this is WAY too high? I have a group of them and i can tell there are males and females but i hav'nt gotten much further than this.hopefully i can get a little more info.
