I'm getting ready to order some wild green phantom plecos and I have been reading up on them but was wondering if anyone had bred them in a tank with African cichlids I have a 125 gal with some wild caught mikula gibberossa I was wanting to add a group of phantoms but didn't know if they can withstand the higher levels I have other tasks setup.
If need be can I breed a pr of green or blue phantoms in a 29 gallon

which green phantoms are you planning to breed? The hemis have been bred, not as sure about the bary.

If you're going to mix them with the fronts you'll have to compromise on the water parameters for both species. If I had a dollar for every african cichlid fanatic who will happily "acclimatise" all sort water species like bristlenose and clown loaches while insisting their precious mbuna NEED pH 8+ and high hardness I'd be a wealthy man...

First thing you need to figure out which L200 species you're dealing with. If it were me personally I wouldn't mix wild caught fish from such different waters, especially if you're interested in breeding them.
