Anyone have some info to share about how to breed these? I've read that some frogs (can't remember which) needs to be fed live fish fry in order to start mating. Will a 20 gallon tank be sufficent? Is there any need to raise/lower the water temperature? I've been trying to use google but it's not my friend in this matter :( Seems Carvalhoi is a fairly uncommon kind of Pipa.

No frogs needs to be fed fish fry to bred, how many pipas do you have, in what conditions are you keeping them, etc?

I've breed ACF's. They only bred when I put 60ish degree water in their tank. Was quite fun. Might be a good way to trigger these frogs. Don't know really.

Dear Gurky,

I am a new member of the "Monsterfishkeepers" because your Pipa carvalhoi. I also care them but, unfortunately, the frogs did stop to breed maybe because the consanguinity.
And because I am an 'old' breeder(more than 40 years!!!) of the Pipidae family members and regularly I usualy get offsprings from my frogs, I like to ask you the chance we could trade some animals. I have ready to supply you with Xenopus amieti, X. victorianus, X. andrei and X. petersii and later on, perhaps Silurana tropicalis, S. paratropicalis, CO3 and Xenopus clivii. As you can see, you have -if you wish- a good number of species to choose in case you have the chance to get me some Pipa carvalhoi.
I'm living in Portugal and I am here to help you in any respect.

Just a question: did you know Manfred Beier from Germany?

Greetings from Portugal,
