Hi,

I'm interested in breeding piranha. I've got the setup ready and everything.
I've got one question. Do I have to move the baby piranha after the egg hatch? How do I do that?

Should I move the parents or the babies?

Thanks in advance

Suck the baby's with a pipe in an other tank.
The parents will try to eat them.

R we talking about RBP?

When they start pair they will not stop...so be ready to have many tanks ready for the kids or the eggs.

good luck!;)

Not all rbp's will eat their fry! Depends on tank size, other fish in their tank, even where the tanks placed, ect, ect. IMO I'd siphon 1/2-3/4 out n leave rest for parents to raise.my rbp's just spawned n I left a easy thousand with parents n I still have at least 2000 babies in every free tank I have and my womans Molly tank too!! GL!

I have bred red belly pirahna many times....Let the parents stand by the eggs untill they hatch....The bond that the pair builds between them gaurding a nest will make the pair stronger, gauranteeing more spawns.....Once the eggs have hatched, siphon the wigglers into a 55g growout....You will have bewtween 200-700 wigglers....Keep feeding the fry bbs(baby brine shrimp) for the first month....Personally my fry have grown an inch and half a month for the first 5 months.........

So your RB's had a spawn of over 3k?????

My largest female is 7inches and the male is 6 inches....each spawn is 6-700...Survival rate to quarter size(2 month old) is 500 SOLID($1500)....
