breeding plecos

can anyone give me the lo-down on breeding plecos? including the rarer kinds. thanks

bristlenose are the easiest if u want to get started breeding. They just need some dark caves water changed and good meals to get going.

My BN pleco's get every other day water changes the temp is a steady 72 this is crucial for spawning. I breed trio's 1 male and two females, any more than that and there is no room for the male in the cave and he will kick out enough eggs to fit in the cave. After the females have laid their eggs [this may take 2 days] I move them to a community tank and give a heavy dose of meth blue to the male and eggs. I feed mostly frozen french cut green beans they get frozen brine blood worms and flake once a week. My water is very hard and the pH is 8.2 but it doesn't seem to bother them. A typical 2 female spawn is around 80- 90 fry.
