Okay.
I had 7 guppies, 4 female and 3 male. They were all placed in a tank together over a month ago but there hasn't been any sign of breeding or pregnant fish. How long does it normally tank for guppies to start breeding, or am I doing something wrong? They're in a 30 gallon tank as I was expection the normal "breeding like rabbits" thing but it's been over a month and nothing.
Also, the origional 7 started dying off a week ago. I'm not left with only two, one male and one female. I've done the expected tests of nitrates, ammonia, ph, temp, blah, blah and everything is perfect. They aren't showing any signs of ick or anything and the water in the tank is crystal clear. They also didnt show any signs of distress before they died either so i'm not completely sure whats going on here..

Feeder guppies aren't available here and the guppied that are are pretty expensive for guppies, so the sooner I can figure out whats wrong and why they arent breeding the better. Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Hi there, I'm breeding Guppy's too and never had a problem like you discribe.
For a start make shure you use clean (filtrated) rainwater. The filtration can be done by pooring it trough a tawl. Just clean your tank first with some desinfection and flush it well. Then put the water in and adjust an amount of one or two tablespoons of salt either kithen or sea salt. Use only an internal pump with a slow flow. Also use an airpump in the tank. Plants, use dence plants in the tank. Give the guppys so now and than a very thin slice of cucumber or a piece cooked carrot. You'll see you succeed.
