You could try freshwater shrimp. I keep red cherrys and they breed like roaches. Ive had 3 females give birth this week and 6 more look about ready to pop. At 50 cents each and with my females having 15-20 babies each it helps pay for fish food. Also there are other shrimp that command much higher prices like 200 per shrimp

You can do live bearer fish like guppies or mollies. Or if you can find them, yellow kribenses are easy. That was my first breeding success

I just start with a group of 10 with a higher ratio of f to m. if your tanks well filtered and cycled breeding shouldnt take too long ive always let fry eat my shrimps pellets because its small and cheap enough

if you want you can upgrade to a 20 gal. and get a pair of convict cichlids they breed like rabbits . but if you want to stick to smaller fish you can do the ones named already or try some cory cats or tetras.

Aren't tetras a little harder to breed?
