this weekend im getting a 40 gallon, two 20 gallons, & three 10 gallons.

- gonna use one of the 10's as a hospital tank.

- the 40 as a single species tank for a small species of piranah maybe Purple Spilo (Serrasalmus Sanchezi)....let me know what you guys think on that.
if not a breeder for smaller cichlids.

- so ill have two 20's and two 10's for breeding. i was thinking firemouths in one 20. kribs in the other 20. one of the 10's as a german ram breeder. and the last 10 as a breeder for angels maybe?

let me know your guys advice on all the stuff i got goin through my head :)

Put angels in one of the twenties and put the kribs in the ten.

dont know how long 20 will work for the FM but it will for awhile of course. wouldnt try to use a 10 for the angels either.
i'd stick with the kribs and rams as you have planned but scratch the FM and use the 20 for angels like fishlvr suggested. you could do some fancy guppies in the other 10 and just feed them to all the other monsters you have.

ya i know a 20 isnt got for FM's for life, neither is a 10 for convicts...im just breeding them in those yaknow?

Depending on what species you go with you need to consider how often they will spawn and research how many fry that species tend to have on average.

You also need growout tanks!!!

If I had what you got(tanks), and was breeding say geophagus then I would use the 40 for breeding and the rest for growout tanks.

Just my opinion though, there are several more people on here with more experience.

Sorry, forgot something....

The reason I went with the 40 as the breeder tank is just think if you had two 8-10" adults in a 20. Just a thought.:)
