I have a pair or HRP's in my 36g bowfront. They ate their first 3 batches about a week after they were free swimming, and this really upset my fiance. So I got to buy a growout tank. I bought a 20g long. The next batch I syphoned them out about 2 days after free swiming. They did just fine. Second batch same thing, third batch...these guys are like clockwork. Well now i have a problem. My tank full of little ones arent exactly "little" anymore. Now they can eat the new fry. Is there anyting I can do to keep the parents from eating the fry so I can leave them in the tank with their parents longer? I alrealy have the newest fry eating BBS and hikiri 1st bites.

Any advise?

What you can do is buy another tank preferably a 55g tank..............Just move the oldest batch to the larger growout and do away with them...........Sell them, trade them, make feeders out of them, and/or make breeding pairs out of some of some of the best looking ones.............If you are lazy, then I would suggest buying some egg crate and screen mesh.......Zip the screen mesh to the egg crate, closing off all the holes...........Then, stcik the egg crate peice in the middle of the tank where the parents...........This makes a center divider.............The fry on one side, and the parents on the other...............
