Looking to pickup an amphilophus citrinellus super red/orange male, as wekk as an amphilophua xiloaensis white female. If they breed will I finaly get some red/orange red devils like i've been wanting all along?

midas are just as likely as xiloaensis to have white fry so why not just get male and female midas?

I have bred a pair of orange Midas.......I have had calico Midas and pure white Midas come out of the pair's spawn.........

what the heck is rapp midas lol

Why cant it be Midas as what it is?

Rapp midas is the name of a guy who he bought him off of. He's an excellent cichlid breeder.

Why mix the two species? We have enough mix fishes in the hobby as it is. I know they're closely related but like Jason said why not just get two Midas.

Think what he meant is Rapps didn't line breed these Midas to look a certain way so we shouldn't be calling it Rapps Midas.

theyre from rapps, they are not cqlled rapps midas. I woi;d do it for myself. no fish would be given away. maybe ill just stick with two of the same

just get midas that are already lighter in color or from white parents or are calico and breed them together to see what you get and keep them pure, i dont think mixing the species will give you any better chances of getting white offspring, there are pure midas that have the lighter white coloring
