Just wondering if there is anything I can do to increase the chance, any advice. My current setup is 8 6" RBP in a 125 tank which recieves water changes every 5 days.

Thanks

does really matter on size as long as they are sexually matured. I think mine did at around that size. if you keep the condition great and as long as they pair up they'll breed. some say better to simulate wet/dry season, that would trigger it but piranhas can also breed in large man made lake caused by dam, which they won't experience wet/dry season as in the wild river system, at least not as dramatic.
you can stop change water for a while, up the heat and lower the water level. this simulates dry season. (low water line, high heat caused by the sun and bad water condition) also try to lower oxygen level if you want to go extreme. just make sure they don't die. then slowly add more water back into the tank, lower the temperature and make sure all water parameters are good. this simulates wet season.
I had 7 rbps and they bred in a 45g, I wasn't even trying. maybe I just got lucky.
as long as you have male and female, eventually they'll pair up..I think.

When you say to slowly add water do you mean over a weeks time or in one evening. I'm trying to breed mine too. I have a diy overflow so I can only lower the water by not using my sump and just relying on the hobs to filter. Will this be safe given its supposed to have lower water quality anyway.

some people actually tried to simulate rain fall by using PVC pipes.
what happened to me was not change water for almost a month ( I was in school and my cousin was helping to feed them) so the water parameter was probably bad then I did a decent size water change after I get home then during next water change (about a week) boom I got fry.

Nice. Did just one pair have fry or was it a piranha orgy, I mean was it just a freak thing with one pair or multiple pairs? Would 5 Ps be enough to get a breeding pair?

also help when you add a little black water doing the water change..

I think probably just one pair, honestly I can't remember. I didn't even know they bred until I saw fry when I doing water change. so I had to filter out all the water to save those babies. lost a lot of them but still had a good amount left..then eventually only 10 lived to about 2-3" cuz I had no idea what I was doing with those fry.

It's the rain cycle of the amazon. Watch some videos about the rain cycle in the amazon and try and replicate it like jp and it encourages spawing.
