So, this my first attempt at breeding a pair of red belly and was wondering if anyone had any tips or info on housing and set-up? Thanks guys.

First how do you know you have a breeding pair? And as far as what you need for reds not much good size tank(they have been bred in smaller tanks "55g-75g" but not offten I'd say 100g+ from what I've seen (haven't bred them myself) they seem to spawn after big water changes but you need good filtration, privitcy (spelling) and if you don't have a proven pair (imo) you should get 6 or more to make sure you have males and females others will chime in who have bred them with more info I'm sure so to help them answer your ? you will need to tell use what size tank do you have or will have how many reds you have what filtration are you useing and if they do bred are you set-up to handle the fry ect.......

Oops, My fault I was rushing. I am trying to get some tanks moved around. Hey, Shawn, I am going to set them up in a 75g. with an aquaclear 110 over the back filter, a xp3 canister, and an aquaclear power head 50. Thanks again Bro.

Males are skinny compared to females. Lots of plants daily water changes n try bringing down tank temp 3-4degrees with the fresh water. Cover part or most of from tank. Watch for them to turn black qhen they do your close!gl
