Was thinking of introducing a male in my g/f's Red Devil tank hoping to get her to breed instead of her laying her dead eggs every 3 1/2 weeks like she does now but I'm not really sure what other species i should introduce to her because she is VERY agressive. Any ideas? This fish has made me and my g/f bleed a couple times from attacking our hands during tank cleaning time. LOL

Is it possible to cross breed with other species like flowerhorns, Convicts, Tillapias, etc The fish is approx 7" long

thanks

I would not suggest cross breeding. you never know what you will introduce into the species with that. its very detrimental to the fish that are further down the line. look at the flowerhorn. its a hybrid. they cant breed. now... as far as a male goes... it would depend on the size of the tank. anything less than 125 is by far too small for a breeding pair of devils. the male gets even more aggresive than the female is and will chase her relentlessly. another option is to use an eggcrate divider, as used by Mojo. I think he still sells them. they are GREAT to have and they work well. they have an opening big enough for the female but its too small for the male to fit thru.
