my red speckled severum are about 6 inches long and this is the third time they have spawned. on the previous occasions the eggs were infertile and i want to know if it is just a question of givign them time and practice or are they infertile because they are red speckled severum as opposed to the standard type.
they are currently in a 400 litre community tank so will not be able to raise their young even if the eggs are fertile, but if there is chance of them breeding successfully i would prefer to sell them to someone who would give them the right conditions as i would feel very sorry for them if they spent all their efforts to raise young in vain only becasue the other fish would eat them.
