I have some nice pairs of red texas that have been laying eggs and just not getting any fry, can red texas cichlids be great with both parents being red or is it like blue dempseys were need regular and hybrid? Just curious would love to breed the ones i have thanks Mike.

Red Texas are tricky. Just because you have a pair that are red or that have peeled. This does not guarantee that all if ANY will ever turn red or peel. For them it is a craps game and time will be the only one that will tell. However you can increase you odds a bit with two peeled parents but still could go the other way too and not have any that peel.
