i've got a pair of sajica cichlids which have spawned three time now and each time the eggs have not been fertilized ,they are still quite young the male is about 3" and the female slightly smaller, do you thinks it's because they are to young or maybe the male is sterile.

Should not be too young, your ph should be normal 6.5 and look if the male is doing the fertilization job.

i would think PH should be neutral to alkaline 7 and slightly higher.but make sure they are not stressed, are there tankmates? some pairs take a few times to get it right

The hardest part with sajicas is usually getting the female to lay eggs, once that's done it's pretty much guaranteed if your parameters are good. The male might not be milting the eggs properly, or in a rare, but possible scenario infertile.

I bought two Sajica from Fish Alive and they spawned within a week. The female guarded the eggs and wrigglers for 2 weeks then the male chased her off and is currently guarding just two 5mm babies from that batch.

What happened to the other gazilion fry?
