Hi all,

Are there any difference as far as reproduction rate, growth rate among cherry shrimp or ghost shrimps or even among other nicer shrimps?

I took the liberty of of browsing a few forums and from what I understand, they all breed like crazy.

I am trying to establish a decent sized colony to feed my predator tanks. How big of a tank is necessary and how long does it take for them to reach maturity?

FYI: The nearest pet shop sells ghost shrimp fairly cheap, however it is 45min away! The nearest PetsMart sells them for 45cents EACH!!!

ghost shrimp can be agressive to their young.

Cherry shrimp or other dwarf shrimp do breed quite readily if param needs are met, but they max out at one inch. Depending on what your predators are, they may be too small to be an effective feeder population.

^ Agreed, unless your feeding something them to something like dwarf puffers or angels maybe?
